May update.
April was a banger of a month, so lets get into it. This is going to be more of a general update highlighting a bunch of stuff I did, and what “The D20 Speakeasy” did. Let’s start with the later.
Kame Games in Grand Prairie TX threw a vendor event that we addended and it was great to meet some people and make more connections. This actually led to me setting some stuff in motion to teach some painting classes at Kame Games. (And maybe all over DFW) This event was also the launch of so killer mdf stuff Bean has been cooking up and a soft launch of Wizard Turf War. Which speaking of…
We made a game! Wizard Turf War hasn’t been a secret, with art by Cara Curley and rules by me. It’s the first game from The D20 Speakeasy and it won’t be the last. One game a year? That’s what we are planning and I already have an idea what the next game will be. If your interested you can get a copy here.
Now on to hobby stuff, I’ve been working on competition entries a lot this month like this diorama.
It’s using Black 4.0 which ill have a review if at some point. It also got shouted out on Reaper Live which was a big boost to the ego. Speaking of Reaper, I have a box of new releases coming from them that are going to be painted as their studio models. That statement doesn’t really feel real. I did a bunch of work on another MSP entry, this time for the Open catagory.
This is Chewy Chompers, the monument to my sins. Current plan is to actually scan him, clean up the file and have it available by Reapercon.
So what’s next? Well in less than a week we will be at The Mutant Bazaar, selling our wares like normal with some added stuff like these sweet commander displays that Bean made this weekend.
I’ll be working a bunch of stuff this month, ramping up and refining pieces for Pigments in July, studio models for Reaper, and starting on the next print project, which is…
We are launching a zine about miniatures. (honestly its open to a lot of stuff) If you want to submit something you can use that contact form on this site, or message me anywhere. Feel free to follow the Sprue & Goo account on bsky too. Submission deadline for the summer ‘26 issue is June 1st.
There’s more stuff, but I’ll leave you with the design for May’s sticker for the Patreon Sticker Club
